I have viewed almost all of the Bill Nye the Science Guy videos or DVD's from my local library. They are entertaining, and Bill explains science in an interesting way.
He always includes an experiment that can be done at home. He also interviews a scientist who is applying the information in an interesting way. For example, in the video which discusses vision, he interviewed someone who makes prosthetic eyes.
These videos are taught from an evolutionary standpoint. They always end with a children's rock band singing about the topics discussed so far; this part of the video can easily be skipped.
