Essentials You Need For Homeschooling

Here are the most important essentials, in my opinion, that you need to consider before you start homeschooling:

1. Learning Style - Your child is an individual and it's best to learn as much about your child and how he/she learns best before you start buying anything for homeschooling.

2. Know the goals you have for yourself and your child - Goals can sometimes be overrated, but it is important to know the direction you want to go and what you want to develop over the course of a year.

3. Choose your style - Do you or your child like workbooks, projects, reading, logic, independent study? These (and more) are all points to consider before you start planning your homeschool year.

4. Choose your resources - Once you know your goals and style you can pin point the resources that will be a fit for you.

Many people start choosing curriculum first and they try to fit their goals, personality and style into that mold. The beauty of homeschooling is that there are many resources out there that you can use to tailor to your goal and style.
