A2 (A Squared) Curriculum

by Kelly
(Georgia)

A2 (A Squared) from http://www.accelerated-achievement.com/ is a complete kindergarten through 12th grade program for only $99.

My first thought was that there was no way you could do all that at so inexpensive a price. My husband liked the price and suggested I go ahead and try it. The program really does provide a good outline and wonderful resources for all grade levels. With access to the internet, printer, and library, a homeschool parent could provide an awesome education for their child.

I think it is important that the program begins with United States history. I understand that many curriculums feel the need to teach world history from the beginning but I feel it is necessary to understand your own history first. It gets to world history after laying a good foundation and it continues to add to US history as it goes along. It provides progressive phonics games for printing, outlines for science and health learning objectives, quotes for copywork, a math book for formula explanations, a worksheet generator for math problems, as well as a large ebook library with reading schedule.

I have been homeschooling for almost 6 years and have 5 children ranging in age from 10 yrs to 22 months. With all the grades available at a click, it simplifies individualizing to a single child's needs and to educating multiple children.

Another great plus with A2 is that it is on cd and is completely portable. I have paid serious money for many different sets and come back to this one time and time again. I feel that with other boxed curriculums, while you might get more detailed or scripted plans, you also get less flexibility.

I do not like all of the ebook selections but it is rather easy to find classical replacements via the internet. Mine was the secular version so I had to obtain my own Bible lessons. He has radically changed the website since I purchased it at the beginning of my homeschool journey making it more easily navigated. He offers an online yahoo! forum and facebook page for support.

There is also an LDS version now available that provides Bible lessons for those of the Mormon faith. He has made it Kindle and eReader compatible.
